Home. School. Life.

I wanted to get this weekly routine down before it changes in a few weeks :)

Monday
Our CC community day! Despite being a Monday, the girls are always excited to get up and go. I like starting our week with structure. Opening is at 9:15, then we split into our classes for memory work (Foundations.) I stay with Annie until lunch, where we all come together to eat and have recess. From 1-3 I do grammar, writing and math with Audrey (Essentials.) Abby and Annie get to play with the rest of the kids whose siblings stay for Essentials. By the end, I am wiped! So much learning for my brain. We get home around 3:30 for a snack and to change for dance. Annie has 2 classes and Audrey has 1. We're done with dance by 6:30, then it's home for dinner, playing, and bed.

Tuesday
We take Anne to school, then come back home. Audrey and Abby work on their math and language arts lessons in T4L. Abby will also work on Spelling City. At noon I take them to Triple Threat, then I pick up Anne. We usually come back home and do things around the house until it's time to get the girls at 4:00. We go to Target for soft pretzels, then leave Audrey for her 4:30 class.
I take Abby and Anne to Abby's soccer practice. Chris picks up Audrey from dance and brings her to soccer practice, so we get to see each other for a bit! If it's super nice out, we all stay for Audrey's practice. But now that it's getting colder and darker, I bring Abby and Anne home with me for dinner and playtime. Audrey gets home around 8 and eats and plays with Abby until bedtime.
Wednesday
After a pretty full Monday-Tuesday, it's so nice to not have anything on Wednesday mornings! We start school when we feel like it. Sometimes the girls are playing so well together that I just roll with it. Annie keeps herself occupied while her sisters work. We head to Mathnasium where Abby and Audrey stay for an hour while Annie and I run errands. We get the girls and then drop Audrey off for 3 HOURS of dance (PHEW!) Abby and Anne play and have dinner, and I'm so glad they can have that time together at home instead of being stuck at the studio. Sweet Audrey doesn't get home until 9!
Thursday
Annie goes to school and we come back home to work. Since we have plenty of time before we need to pick her up, we can fit more "school stuff" in. We also have a good amount of time after we get home with Anne. However, we just started a LEGO STEM group (Girls Only!) which runs from 1:30-3:00.

Then, we head to the studio where Audrey and Annie each have 2 classes. I'm super lucky to have lots of awesome dance moms to stay with them while I leave to take Abby to cheer. While she's there I get to have dinner with my fellow cheer moms :) After cheer, we head back to the studio to pick up the girls, then we usually pick up dinner because by that time it's 7:30! It's pretty late by the time we're home, fed, and ready for bed.
Friday
Pretty much the same morning and afternoon as Thursday; Anne goes to school and we school at home. Occasionally we'll take our computers and go somewhere with Wi-Fi to do our basic T4L stuff. Last week we did it at the Toyota dealership :) We pick up Anne and come home for some quiet time. Then we take Audrey to ballet, she gets an hour break, then Chris takes her to soccer. Annie used to have a ballet class after Audrey, but that got dropped, so we get some time back!

We love our trips to the Library
Snuggled up for preschool drop off
It's worth mentioning that no two weeks have been the same. Dance classes have been dropped or moved around. Sometimes rain will cancel soccer, and so Audrey stays for extra dance classes. She dances a minimum of 8 hours a week, up to 12 when there's no soccer.

As it gets colder and some of our activities finish up, there will be more time for science experiments, learning history, and writing. I feel like we've done well with easing into our new school routine. It's not a race to the finish; it truly is a learn-as-you-go journey. I love the freedom of owning our own time and forging our own path.

  1. I have to know.... when/how do you and Audrey get your Essentials work done during the week?! That takes up half of our school day right now! :p
